ICF–CT Board of Directors Roles for External Posting

President:

The President provides leadership to the Chapter and acts as “Chief Volunteer”, working with the ICF-CT

Board of Directors, membership and community to further the ICF Organization’s mission and support the Connecticut coach community as a whole. The President is a member of the Northeast Chapter Leaders Group and is the ICF-CT Chapter liaison to ICF Global. The President is one of four officers along with President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and Past President. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have held an ICF-CT Board Member Role
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 1 Year following a 1 year term as President Elect

President Elect

The President Elect shall assist the President, assume the duties of the President in his/her absence, is responsible for managing Chapter sponsorship program and MAF/AAF program, and performs such duties and have such authority as from time to time may be assigned by the President or the Board. The President Elect is one of four officers, along with the President, Secretary, Treasurer and Past President. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have held an ICF-CT Board Member Role
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 1 year immediately preceding role as President

Secretary:

The Secretary plays a critical role in fostering communication and diligence through proper management and utilization of important records such as board meeting minutes and the organization’s by-laws. The Secretary is one of four officers, along with the President, President Elect, Treasurer and Past President. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for the Chapter’s official financial transactions, keeping accurate books of the accounts, and ensuring that all financial yearend statements and review of the books of the Chapter are completed. The Treasurer works closely with the President and Board and shall present a Financial Report to the board at its meetings. The Treasurer is one of four officers, along with the President, President Elect, Secretary, and Past President. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years

Immediate Past President:

The Past President is one of four officers, along with the President, President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Past President is called upon by the President and Board to attend Board of Director meetings as needed and at the request of the sitting President. The primary role is to advise and mentor the current president and board, acts as a board liaison to the ICF-CT Past Presidents Advisory Council, and has the opportunity to be nominated to serve on ICF North East Regional Advisory Committee. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have served a full term as President
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 1 year term immediately following Presidency

Meeting Management Role:

Meeting Management Chair(s) manage and coordinate all “in person and virtual” chapter meetings. This includes meeting planning and coordination, and some pre and post meeting communication, administration and reporting. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years

Marketing

Marketing Chair promotes and enhances the Chapter’s image and visibility to attract new members and to position the Chapter as the “go to” organization for expertise on professional coaching in the state of Connecticut. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years

Membership:

Encourage and support a community of collaborative coaches who, together, uphold and elevate the profession of coaching. Membership welcomes and engages membership and maintains the membership records, i.e. various lists such as mailing list, membership and business directory. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years

Newsletter Editor:

The role of Newsletter Editor is member of the board who creates, manages, and publishes the newsletter and meeting reminders for the Chapter. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years

Programs, Education, and Professional Development

The Programs Chair(s) meet the education and professional development needs of the ICF-CT chapter membership through quality programming in collaboration with the ICF–CT Board of Directors and Chapter President. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years

Website Chair (webmaster)

The role is to act as webmaster and administrator for the ICF-CT website managing and facilitating information flow from our ICF Chapter through our ICF-CT website to external stakeholders (membership and Connecticut coach community at large) and to manage the relationship and technical support with our external web vendors. Requirements:

  • Be a member in good standing of ICF
  • Have an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC) or meet ICF MER Membership requirements
  • Have an active coaching practice (internal or external)
  • Reflect the spirit, training, credentials and integrity of the coaching profession

Term: 2 years
