Until further notice: Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 virus, and after considering the recommendations of our health authorities, all chapter meetings and Coach Café’s will be virtual, at least through the end of April. The ICF CT board has met and agreed that we need to make safe choices. Though we all are healthy adults, we may come in contact with health-compromised friends or family and we don’t feel it is a good idea to take that risk when we don’t have to. There is an opportunity in this to meet the needs of the members in new ways. Virtual meetings can have educational, networking, and social support aspects and we plan to take advantage of that going forward.
Our new motto is “’Social-Undistancing’ through ICF Connections!”
Please stay engaged with the chapter and if you have any ideas or would like to host a virtual meeting at a time and day that is convenient for you, please let us know. Members, please use the Forum on our webpage (Tab is under Members on the menu)
The March 27th meeting will now be a 90-minute “webinar” format with opportunities to introduce yourself, share your niche, ask/offer and even get into smaller breakout rooms to get to know your fellow members better. The description of the event will be on the website by early next week and will require registration for the Zoom link. We are making this event free to all members and non-members.
Virtual Meeting: Networking in the Face of the Coronavirus! - 3/27/2020
Anyone who already registered for the in-person meeting will be refunded and will need to reregister.
The April meeting, originally planned for Hartford, will be a webinar on Coaching Trends and Artificial Intelligence. Watch for the event to be posted soon. We will do our best to schedule an in-person meeting up in Hartford as soon as we can. The May meeting is still scheduled for Shelton and we’ll make decisions on that as time gets closer.
The regular business of the chapter, to support and connect our members, will continue. Please reach out if you need anything.
A portion of the message from Magda Mook, ICF CEO:
“This outbreak will impact all of us in some way—personally, in our families and in our communities. It will also impact our clients.
Coaching is a caring profession. ICF is a caring organization.
We’ve created a COVID-19 landing page for the ICF community at coachfederation.org/wecare.
Please visit this page for updates from organizations including the World Health Organization, wellness and hygiene information, ideas for your own coaching practice, resources for supporting your clients, and more.”
Stay healthy, stay engaged, and reach out to your fellow members if you are feeling a little lonely!

President, ICF Connecticut
