These interactive learning sessions are designed for coaches who are interested in adding facilitated learning experiences to their offerings. Each session mixes new learning and small group discussion to explore a different topic related to designing and delivering group learning opportunities.
Participants who complete all 6 sessions have the opportunity to earn a total of 15 CCEUs and a certificate of completion from ICF-CT in Designing & Delivering Learning Experiences (Information below under Highlights).
FOR: All ICF-CT members wanting to learn more about designing & facilitating learning experiences
WHEN: Monday, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
DATE: April 20, 2026
Each session must be registered for individually; 1.5 CCEUs per session
HIGHLIGHTS:
Many coaches add group learning experiences to their offerings, whether it be a session for those they work with or a session for other coaches. Each session, different topics will be introduced and explored, topics that add to a deep foundation for engaging & interactive learning experiences.
There are two options for participation:
Option 1: Earn 1.5 CCEUs for each 1.5-hour session attended
Option 2: Participants who complete all 6 sessions have the opportunity to earn a total of 24 CCEUs and a certificate of completion from ICF-CT in Designing & Delivering Learning Experiences.
To do so:
- Attend all 6 of the 1.5-hour sessions
o April 20, May 4, May 18, June 1, June 15, and June 29 (9 hours)
- Complete the assigned application task between sessions (6 hours)
- Design a 45-minute learning experience for peer review (3 hours)
- Attend the full-day in-person session, deliver a 45-minute learning experience, and receive peer feedback on the design & delivery (6 hours)
DETAILS:
By the end of the learning experience, participants will have:
Session 1
- Considered how a focus on learning differs from a focus on teaching
- Explored Global Learning Partner’s 3 C Model for creating deep learning connections with Content, Self & Others
Session 2
- Differentiated between the three domains of Bloom’s Taxonomy: Cognitive, Affective & Psychomotor
- Analyzed the six levels of the Cognitive domain and how they impact learning design
- Appraised Visual, Auditory & Kinesthetic learning styles from the perspective of their own learning style and their design style for other learners
Session 3
- Identified the core tasks of the four stages of the Experiential Learning Cycle
- Demonstrated use of Global Learning Partner’s 4 A’s model of learning task design within their own learning design
Session 4
- Differentiated between Warmups, Icebreakers, and Energizers and brainstormed a list of each to consider adding to their design
- Explored the difference between an energizer and a task being energizing
Session 5
- Developed a list of ways to introduce the duality of safety and challenge into a learning event
- Practiced creating opportunities for dialogue for learners
Session 6
- Examined the role of visuals within a learning experience
- Practiced the “What? So What? Now What?” Model of facilitation
Each of the above sessions:
- Reflected on how this new learning might impact their coaching partnerships and practiced this inclusion with other participants
Bonus Session (for those completing the full certificate offering):
- Delivered a short group learning experience, and received feedback on the delivery
(Bonus session will be held in person at The Connected Approach Leadership Center in Farmington, CT)
Videoconference information will be provided in an email once registration is complete.
