Biography

Hello!  My name is Lauren Krasnow, and I have been the Secretary of our chapter since 2019.

I absolutely love my work as a leadership/executive coach, primarily for lawyers. My clients are most of the "AmLaw 100" (the 100 largest global law firms), which hire me to coach their lawyers (firm leaders, partners, and associates), as well as their senior-level business services professionals.  While most of the people I coach are in NYC or Boston, I have worked with a few coachees who live in Connecticut. I consider it an incredible privilege to be able to support and join other people on their journeys to become the best versions of themselves.

I also have extensive training and knowledge about ADHD, which I draw on in my leadership coaching engagements to help (the many!) high-functioning professionals who could be even better (and far less stressed!) if their ADHD were better managed.

Before becoming a leadership coach, I wore the professional hats of lawyer in NYC (12 years), legal recruiter in NYC (2 years) and stay-at-home-parent in West Hartford (4 years).

I joined ICF-CT because I wanted to find my "peeps" closer to home.  While my coaching brings me great joy and fulfillment, I found myself missing the casual face-to-face conversations, coffee or walking dates, and in-person gatherings with like-minded "coaching nerds" that feed my highly extroverted soul.

Joining ICF-CT has proven to be a great move for me. Some of our members have become my close friends, and I've met many interesting and friendly coaches from different backgrounds and with a wide array of professional niches. I assumed the role of Secretary in 2019, and this enhanced involvement has been rewarding. It's been an absolute pleasure to be a part of our chapter and community.

I earned my coach certification from iPEC in 2017, and I completed specialized training in ADHD coaching shortly thereafter, including studying under Dr. Ned Hallowell, a luminary in the field.

I'm trained in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), and I'm MBTI-certified, as well as certified as a Mental Health First Aider.

My synagogue, Temple Sinai in Newington, is an important part of my family's life, and I previously served on the board of directors of the Mandell JCC of Greater Hartford. Before moving to CT, I served on the board of the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) in NYC, where my husband and I were appointed co-chairs of ADL's Young Professionals Division.

I'm passionate about civil and human rights, and I believe that "empathy contagion" is the simple-but-not-necessarily-easy antidote to most problems (from "macro problems" like the divisiveness that currently plagues our country, to "micro problems" such as employee disengagement or strained personal relationships). I strongly believe that coaches have a huge role to play in promoting empathy across many arenas.

I live in West Hartford with my husband and our two kids. We moved to West Hartford from NYC in 2008, and I grew up in Warwick, RI.  I love to ski, read, play tennis, walk or run with friends around West Hartford's reservoirs and hiking trails, write, and travel (my husband and I are minor history buffs).

I'm an alum of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, and of the University of Michigan Law School (Go Blue!).
