ICF-CT President's Message

Marta Koonz, PCC | Published on 7/22/2025
Hello everyone!

As the newly elected president of the ICF-CT chapter, I am honored to lead both our amazing board of directors and our chapter! Our Board of Directors truly is amazingI don’t use the word lightly. Each one of them has committed to being a part of creating and offering opportunities for our membership to thrive. I’ve put forth a vision for the year that our board has embraced: “Supporting ourselves, supporting our colleagues, supporting those we work with.”

Supporting Ourselves: What do we, as individuals, need to take care of ourselves and be present for others in our lives, both personally and professionally? This might be flexibility on the part of ICF-CT in how and when we offer programs, sharing self-care strategies, or simply creating ways for our members to connect with each other—to hold space, share ideas and challenges, and be the supportive community that reflects who we are at our core.

Supporting Our Colleagues: How can we best support our colleagues as they work to make a difference in the world and in the lives of others? Okay, maybe not colleagues in the traditional sense, but as coaches we share a common professional focus. And, we are so diverse in how we express that focus. We have so many different niches and specialties and tools we use: Each of us has a different combination of strengths—our unique set of superpowers, and building each other up benefits us all, individually and as a community.

Supporting Those we Work With: What tools do we each need in our toolboxes—strategies and techniques and approaches that will enable us to best support those we work with? What can we do as an organization to help our membership learn and practice and deepen in their journeys to be the best possible coaches for the individuals they serve?

At our upcoming board retreat, we’ll take the time to thoughtfully review our chapter offerings to ensure that what we do makes a difference for you, our members. We’ll use your input from the member survey to include your voices as we plan the year ahead, so please take a few minutes to share your thoughts if you haven’t already. We’re excited for the year ahead and look forward to seeing you and supporting you on your coaching journey.

As always, keep sparkling!
