This week's board member spotlight is featuring Lauren Krasnow, who is the Secretary of our ICF-CT chapter.
 Who am I?
Hello! My name is Lauren Krasnow. I am a leadership coach for leaders, partners and associates at major global law firms. I also enjoy coaching professionals in other fields.
I help people leverage their strengths and “own their power” to become better leaders and create more fulfilling lives. One client recently told me that I have “a gift for getting right to the heart of an issue, with a great combination of candor, sensitivity and humor.” As someone who is results-oriented and straightforward, yet also warm, non-judgmental and compassionate, I believe that quote captures perfectly the experience I aim to deliver to everyone I coach.
I live in West Hartford with my husband and our two kids. Our family moved to Connecticut 11 years ago from NYC, and I’m originally from Warwick, RI. I’m excited to be a part of ICF-CT’s local community of like-minded coaches.
What do I do?
I love my work. I consider it an immense privilege to partner with other people on their unique journeys as they strive for “success” and as they become the best possible versions of themselves. My coaching often focuses on the areas of leadership, executive presence, business development, time and commitment management, stress management and burnout, delegation, emotional intelligence, and communication.
After graduating from Wharton Business School and University of Michigan Law School, I worked as a lawyer and legal recruiter, respectively. Several years ago, a former boss asked me to become a career coach for her new company, Volta Talent Strategies. This proved to be a great move; Volta is now the largest – and, many would say, leading – legal talent management organization in the world.
I segued into leadership coaching after attending iPEC. I’m about to add the role of assistant instructor of Volta Coach Training [ICF-accreditation pending], the only coach training program designed for internal law firm talent professionals.
What am I passionate about?
I’ve come to believe that humility, authenticity, vulnerability and the natural response that those qualities beget – empathy – are the keys to both effective leadership and individual fulfillment. So, to answer the question, what am I passionate about? I’m passionate about being a coach who helps others find those keys so they can unlock their potential.
