Hello Coaches & Friends,
LEARN, Grow, Connect, and Contribute – our chapter motto
Chapter members tell me that at the end of our in-person meetings they feel connected, energized and excited to learn new ideas or practices. At our September meeting in Shelton, I experienced all three. It was great to see new chapter members and guests connecting with our seasoned members. It was also great to experience a 90-minute program by Rachel Roth that highlighted the potential transformation of our clients when we help them shift from “What’s Wrong to What’s Strong.” We learned how to use the VIA Survey as a tool in our coaching practice and for ourselves. It’s not too late to check it out: VIAcharacter.org
In addition to the rich experiential content in the presentation, we kicked off our Fall with a drawing for some giveaway gifts for members; Allison Holzer won a free MAF membership and we gave away 2 free passes to the WBECS (Business Executive Coaching) Summit to members Manny Sousa and Ugur Zel. We earned these passes, worth $2,600, through our affiliation partnership with WBECs. Congratulations members!
Each chapter meeting is another opportunity to meet new people, share ideas, learn something new, and get involved! A big welcome to new committee volunteers, Paul Butler and Vivian Hardison who will be contributing their time and skills to Marketing and Technology. Deb Urbano and Jean Stetz-Puchalski will be helping out with Programs.
Our next chapter meeting is October 25th. Please join us for a presentation led by Steve Porcaro, “Presenting with Confidence.” We’ll be at our new additional location – the Town & County Club in Hartford. One of our sponsors, Publish Your Purpose Press, will also be there. If you do any speaking for associations, non-profits, or as a trainer and/or if you are thinking about writing a book, this would be a great meeting to attend. We also have networking time before and after the meetings. Come join the community of coaches!
Quick view of our in-person meeting schedule:
- October and April in Hartford
- January, March and May in Shelton
- Meetings are held on the last Friday of those months from 8:30-11:30am. Doors open at 8:30 with breakfast and networking - the meeting starts at 9am
Want to attend a shorter virtual meeting and also earn CEUs? We have 3 coming up. Nov 22, Feb 28 and June 26th. They typically occur from 8am to 9:15am and are worth 1.0 CEU. Check the website 60-90 days in advance. (While you’re there, consider our pay-one-price option that pays for a full year of monthly meetings and saves you money. (See MAF and AAF Upgrade options)
There are many ways to contribute to our chapter, here’s a super easy one:
- Take the ICF Global coaching survey. Encourage anyone you know who has any coaching training for their job or their practice to go to this website. www.CoachingSurvey2019.com. If we get 100 people to take the survey from CT, we’ll get the data for our state specifically.
Have a great month and I hope to see you at a meeting in Hartford or Shelton, and/or at one of our Coach Café’s in Wilton or Stamford. If there is any initiative you’d like to get involved in, please email me at President@icf-ct.org.
Thanks!
