Hello Coaches & Friends,
This has been a very humbling month. Our lives have been turned upside down by something out of our control. As coaches we look for a way to reframe, to look for the opportunity, or at least to not get drowned in negative thinking. I hope you are able to keep high spirits, continue coaching, and stay healthy!
As we are surrounded by uncertainty, there is one thing I want all of you to know.
We, ICF Connecticut, are here for you. On behalf of the board of directors and all the volunteers who have joined our ranks in the last several months, we want to let the chapter members know that we are engaged and we want you to join us. Each month we have at least 2 virtual “Coach Cafes” and a virtual chapter meeting on the last Friday of the month. If you need more connection, let us know and we’ll find a way to provide it. If you want to select a different day and time so that you can participate, just let me know and we’ll set it up! If you want to play with us on Zoom to learn the platform better, we’ll set up another practice session. (I’ve learned so much this month – it was fun!) If you want to join our team of volunteers, we’d love that too.
Besides our Virtual Coach Cafes, there are two exciting opportunities to participate in programming in the coming month:
April Chapter Meeting, “Coaching Trends and Artificial Intelligence,” on April 24th from 8-9:30 am. Join us for a lively discussion about the future of coaching (Pandemic or no Pandemic).
International Coaching Week. ICW takes place from May 4-8. Our chapter is presenting Raise the Bar Webinar: 5 Themes 5 Days of Learning, a series of free webinars presented by professional coaches representing a wide variety of coaching specializations. I invite you to go the webpage (follow the link), and start registering for the FREE webinars. Please share this newsletter to help spread the word.
Big thanks go to Judy Garfinkel, President Elect, who put this amazing event together, and to all the member-presenters who are offering their time and expertise to make this event possible. I’d also like to thank the team of volunteers who are working on the back end as Zoom masters, co-hosts, writers, and the marketing team.
One last message, I’d like to congratulate two new members to the Board of Directors. Lori Candela is now Programs Co-Chair and Stephanie Tishler is Marketing Chair. Both were voted in by the board to fill vacancies. The vote for the current slate of officers, to take over on July 1 will continue from April 2-April 23 and we will announce the full slate on April 24th. Ballots have been sent to all members.
Keep in touch and have a great month,
Monica Leggett
