Hello Coaches & Friends,
Wow! You plan a party and then you hope people will show up. Well, lots of people showed up for the International Coaching Week celebration offered by our chapter. Raise the Bar Webinar: 5 Themes 5 Days of Learning was a resounding success. We can’t get together in person but we had a great virtual event with as many as 50 people attending the sessions and a total of over 500 registrations for the 13 webinars and 1 Coach Cafe. Fabulous!!
I’d like to acknowledge the leadership of Judy Garfinkel and the hard work of the ICW committee – Lori Candela, Sharon Jacobson, Steve Porcaro, Stephanie Tishler, Vivian Hardison, Naomi Rafalowicz, Jami Bertini, and Evelyn Jenkinson, plus the amazing work of our VA, Kathy Pujat who helped behind the scenes. Many more of you helped spread the word on social media and with friends and colleagues. We thank you!
The event couldn’t have happened without our volunteer presenters who shared their time and talent; Larry Ackerman, Lori Candela, Allison Holzer, Karen Kirchner, Manny Sousa, Suze Shaner, Linda Shaffer-Vanaria, Dina Markind, Isabella Isola, and Judy Garfinkel.
For the members who attended, please share your big takeaways in the Member Forum on the website. There is a stream labeled Post Event Discussions. What will you do with the knowledge you learned?
The votes are in… We have a new slate of officers who will take on their new roles as of July 1. Congratulations to Judy Garfinkel, President, Suzanne Kennard, Treasurer, Naomi Rafalowicz, Membership, and Vivian Hardison, Meeting Management. We also have Lori Candela, Programs, and Stephanie Tishler, Marketing, who came onto the board in March to fill vacancies and will continue in a 2-year term. Returning on the board for one more year will be Matt Cross, Virtual Meeting Management, Brian Clate, Programs co-chair, and I will move to the Past President role.
We still have openings for Technology Chair (with a strong team to back you up), and President-Elect (ICF board experience required). Please reach out if you are interested in either role.
Monthly meetings: April was a timely subject with a great turnout. Special thanks to Suze Shaner for being my color commentator on the topic of Coaching Trends, Technology and Artificial Intelligence. If you’re an ICF CT member, you can open the member forum (under For Members) to see the post-event discussions.
The May 29 chapter meeting and program will be a good next step to business and career building as we discuss “How to Grow Your Sphere of Influence Using Social Media” with Jeff St. Laurent. This is great for any entrepreneur, so please share the link.
One last note about our virtual schedule – we will be scheduling a Virtual Celebratory Gathering (tentative date is June 18th at 5 pm). This will be in place of our usual annual luncheon where we acknowledge incoming and outgoing board members and honor our outstanding members. It’s BYOB so come ready to toast our new board and volunteers!
Stay healthy and please join us for our upcoming meetings and get involved in the chapter!
